To whom it may concern,
Two letters in the same month? Who would have known I have the energy to write this much to you! Did you miss receiving these kinds of letters from this newsletter?
I told you before that I would be writing to you on the next Full Moon—just that I did not specify which time in the month I would be releasing it (lol). We got a lot of magickal things in store for us in this issue, my space explorer. I hope you are excited about it as much as I enjoyed writing this to you!
Shadow Work Check-In Topic
Today, we are going meta—I would be discussing about shadow work (and my relationship with witchcraft as of late) for today’s check-in topic.
I only had the headspace to return on doing shadow work yesterday, prior to drafting this letter. I was able to come home early despite leaving late from the office, which made me consider picking up my planner-slash-journal and catch up on some entries.
Considering that it is only a few days away from October, I checked the blank spread for the month for some insights on my birth month. Lo, and behold.
Coincidence? More like synchronicities in the algorithm, if you ask me.
Soon enough, I had the energy to do a lunar spread for the collective, which I always feature at the latter part of this letter. It was a blind pull at first, I did not think through the questions I would be asking the algorithm. Only later was I able to consult my lunar spreads for this particular full moon and needless to say, my divination skills are still on point.
It is another instance of synchronicities. You will see as you read further.
What does the future hold for me and my craft?
I have been drowning in the mundane for months now. I am thankful that I have enough breathing room to think for myself without feeling too alone for now. Even as I write, I am on a silent call1 with a handful of friends, and it ebbs the feeling of loneliness that I occasionally experience.
I mentioned in my previous letter that I have been biding my time, and I could say the same when it comes to my return to witchcraft. My wares are neatly placed in my room, waiting for my return—and when I do decide to commit, they will welcome me back with open arms. I have not touched my main tarot deck and planner-journal for months, yet I still manage to receive precise answers from the heavens.
It’s not going anywhere, just as I know you would not be going anywhere, too—without saying a proper goodbye, at least.
One thing is for sure, things were on pause. Hopefully this time, I can commit this time, on my quiet return.
I am a little hopeful as I look forward on how things will unfold. I almost have a month left before my solar return, after all.
Full Moon in Aries
Allow me to start fresh in this letter, we would not be looking back on the previous New Moon a few weeks back—just because. Let us get straight to what is in store for the Full Moon in Aries. This time, it urges us on releasing adrenaline out from our system. Our main mantra is: “I am”—simple as that. Rid yourself of the masks you have for other people and come as you are, my space explorer.
For this moon cycle’s tarot spread, we are called to ask within ourselves:
What do I need to speed up?
What triggers my competitive spirit?
What is my relationship with burnout?
You know the drill, my space explorers.
Eight of Swords: You might see yourself in a rut the past couple days. Or perhaps, you really are in a sticky situation. Despite this, the algorithm tells us that it is a farce—the collective feels trapped, but not really. Simply put, if things are not giving for you, you have the option to walk away. If this rut is pertaining to your headspace, know that you have the means to rework your mindset into a more positive and healthier one. If this is concerned with the environment you are navigating in, the algorithm reminds you of the power that you have. Reclaim this for yourself and locate the quickest exit you can find—if there is none, carve your way out if necessary. In Gen Z terms: if you feel that it’s so over, it’s not. You are back, you are sooooo back. LFG and get this bread. The only way out is through, now get back up to speed!
Three of Pentacles: Doing collaborative work with other people may fire up the competitiveness for some of you. I would liken this to the Filipino modern idiom “group work, but individual grading” where people would be enticed to put in extra effort—though for some, this is not by choice but by circumstance. Take this advice from the algorithm as you see fit.
Three of Swords: Relating this from the previous card, sure you are encouraged to unleash your competitive streak and channel it into something productive—but at what cost? We are called to release the unnecessary adrenaline rush because as we burn bright, smoke and ashes will be left as an aftermath. Burnout is seeping in the bones of the collective, to the point that it is affecting their emotional and mental health. Do not forget to incorporate a breather for yourself and work is not everything—we are all replaceable cogs in this capitalist machine. Take a break or some days off. There is an upcoming nine-day holiday in the country when you play your cards (or leaves, rather) right, you might want to consider taking this opportunity.
Sponsored Message from The Algorithm: Before I dive deeper into the card itself, Sponsored Messages from The Algorithm are card(s) that may have fallen in the middle of shuffling the deck. Depending on the number of cards that have fallen, tarot readers may choose to ignore it or pick it up and save it for later. You could have a guess which route I took.
Three of Cups, reversed: This card provides more insight in the spread. The Three of Cups is a card of strengthened friendships and bonding with other people—put it in reverse, and it entails that the collective rarely has the time to catch up with their close peers. This, paired with the hectic and competitive position of Three of Pentacles means that work is eating too much of your personal time. Be sure not to forget to check on your friends and make time with them (and yourself), when you can.
Full Moon Blind Date
If you have not read my introductory post, this is the segment where I leave shadow work prompts for you to work on—like a blind date with yourself! It is not mandatory to do this of course, but you would be surprised with the answers that you might find within. You are not alone in doing this of course, since I will be sharing my answers with you, too. You are here with me, remember?
This lunar season compels us to think about what is coming to fruition in our personal goals and recalling what we have learned about ourselves—who we are, how we want to be perceived, and how we want to be supported.
By the time you receive this letter (8+ time), the Full Moon will shift to Aries. With the energies of the Full Moon gearing towards release and letting go, Aries is ruled by the fiery Mars. Let go of things that contribute to aggression. Take a few deep breaths and start slow, and do not allow yourself to be totally influenced by Aries’s cardinal and impulsive nature.
Without further ado, this lunar cycle asks us…
Which aspects of your life do you need to advocate for?
My answer: I would be quoting Che Guevara on this one. I would most likely be advocate on growing hard without losing my tenderness. True strength can be found through vulnerability and being able to crumble the walls we built from within. I also believe that the people we meet in our life as encounters—some will enter, some may leave, and some may stay through the highs and lows of our lives. Perhaps, the bottom line of this is advocating for finding profoundness in the smallest things.
Final Thoughts
Would you look at that, I was able to complete a lunar letter in one sitting. No promises on consistency, but I will try to write like I did on this one when I am in the right zone. I hope you are doing well, my space explorer. Do your best and love well.
<3, Aud
Well, I would not call it entirely silent, we just chose to find comfort in being non-verbal. Think of it as a virtual parallel play of some sorts. Perhaps I could discuss this in the next check-in topic come the next New Moon?
